Almost every time I get a call from someone looking to update their headshots I hear this, " So, I'm not very photogenic, you're going to have your work cut for you". I hear that and think, challenge accepted. This is the exact thing John said to me when he called to get new Financial advisor headshots. He's a financial advisor who wants to level up his LinkedIn profile, Facebook page, and print marketing.

I totally get not liking the process of having your picture taken, it can be uncomfortable. This is where the psychology of photography comes in. I love to interact with my clients, get to know them, find out what common ground we have. This really helps breaks the ice and make the process more comfortable.

I also like you to know that the pressure is on me to get the expressions and to capture you in the best light possible. The pressure is not on you to come in and all of a sudden be a Vogue model. I coach my clients from start to finish. We review images as we shoot so we can see where we need to make improvements and where we're killing it. I like everyone to come in feel comfortable, relaxed and be able to enjoy the process. You don't have to know anything coming in! I got your back. Everyone can be photogenic. Even you!

I don't like the word pose. I don't pose people in headshots. I photograph a few different angles to figure where the good side is and then work with you on expression. Expression is everything in a headshot. I coach this every step of the way! The phrase, flex your left nostril has been uttered in my studio before.
